Job Summary: As the first point of contact for new customers, the Inside Technical Sales Representative at Vytal Filtration Technologies plays a vital role in building trust and providing tailored solutions. We’re looking for someone with a strong technical background in liquid/solid separation and filtration processes who is also committed to understanding each customer’s unique needs. In this role, you will serve as a key technical resource, clearly communicating with customers to deliver sustainable solutions and manage expectations.
You will be responsible for preparing quotations and proposals that reflect the specific requirements of each customer, factoring in multiple cost variables. Our customers frequently rely on us for technical guidance, and the inquiries we receive can be both high volume and complex. Success in this role requires excellent time management and the ability to prioritize and delegate effectively to meet customer needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Team Coordination: Will demonstrate an understanding of current strategies and contribute to achieving them. You will build and maintain long-term relationships with both new and existing customers. Will identify new opportunities, issues, or concerns and direct them to the appropriate salesperson for follow-up. Tracking quotations and proposals, providing valuable feedback on successful or unsuccessful sales to continuously improve our approach.
Customer Service: In this role, you will provide timely and professional responses to customer inquiries, prioritizing requests based on urgency and workload to ensure smooth and efficient service. You will work closely with our purchasing and logistics teams to gather accurate lead times and proactively manage customer expectations. This role requires the ability to understand customer needs through phone and email communication, as well as the ability to assess and prioritize requests based on urgency to deliver exceptional service.
Quote and Proposal Preparation: In this role, you will identify customer requirements in terms of product, pricing, and lead times. You will demonstrate attention to detail when preparing quotations, ensuring all information is accurate and valid for smooth processing upon order receipt. Will include contacting suppliers as needed for clarification on product descriptions, modifications, pricing, and lead times to provide accurate and up-to-date information. Support the customer’s decision-making process by offering clear and appropriate technical information. Work with Outside Sales representatives to quote and provide sales order confirmations.
Documentation and Reporting: Complete and maintain accurate records of quotes, sales, communications with customers.
Safety Standards: Actively participate in maintaining compliance with the company safety program by adhering to workplace safety standards, policies, and guidelines.
Qualifications:
Degree in a STEM Discipline (Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred)
Fluent in English (spoken and written)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Self-motivated and takes pride in the quality of work produced
Technical approach to problem solving with a focus on developing a deeper understanding of the customer’s application and process.
Driven to make sustainable long-term sales and developing a trusting relationship with customers.
Meticulous and detail-oriented, especially with orders, quotations, and proposals.
Creativity and resourcefulness in the face of internal and external constraints.
Ability to manage time and customers. Knowing when to prioritize or delegate certain tasks.
Desirable:
Experience in client-facing customer service roles, especially in a fast-paced environment where time management is crucial.
Ability to multi-task and handle multiple deadlines while managing customer expectations.
Working knowledge and/or interest in filtration and separation processes.
